Is it supported to install a new Exalytics Patchset (PS) (i.e. PS4), directly on a re-imaged Exalytics machine? If yes, is PS3 (or subsequent PS patch) still required on the server?

Is use of the Exalytics Domain Management Utility (EDMU) mandatory with Exalytics Patchset 4 and onwards?

If the EDMU is not mandatory, is it supported to manually install the software directly (OBIEE and TimesTen)?
