Solaris Cluster 4.0/4.1: The SUNWsczone.start_sczbt Validate Fails with "Non-global zones mountpoint does not exist" When 'Mounts' Option is Used in sczbt_config file (Doc ID 1925576.1)

Last updated on APRIL 07, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 4.0 to 4.2 [Release 4.0 to 4.2]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

When configure a failover zone in Solaris Cluster it is possible to use the variable 'Mounts' in the sczbt_config file of Oracle Solaris Cluster Data Service for Oracle Solaris Zone. Details available in the Listing of sczbt_config.

When using this 'Mounts' variable in the sczbt_config file within Oracle Solaris Cluster (OSC) 4.0 or OSC 4.1, Solaris 11, the SUNWsczone failover zone resource and resource group come online without issue if the zone is currently attached to the node on which the resource is starting.  However, on any subsequent failovers, the SUNWsczone resource fails to start due to validate failures searching for the mount point found in the zone path.

The mount point was created in the zone prior to running sczbt_register.

The failure is the following in /var/adm/messages:

After that, any attempts to start the zone resource in the cluster on either node fail with the error above.
