ACSLS - Missing Tapes

Symptoms
Tapes are not in the SLConsole Cartridge Summary report. They are marked absent in the ACSLS volume inventory. But customer is sure that the tapes are inside the library.
Tapes are randomly missing and/or randomly rediscovered during audits.
Here is an example:
During ACSLS audit, this "absent" tape was found in a valid cell location:
