Solaris Cluster 3.x: HA-NFS Does Not Store the State Files in <RG-PathPrefix>/SUNW.nfs/v4_state (Doc ID 1935346.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 10, 2020

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 3.2 to 3.3 U2 [Release 3.2 to 3.3]
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Symptoms

After applying Solaris Kernel Patch 147440-12 (sparc) or 147441-12 (x86) or later
the state files of HA-NFS Resource Groups (RG) are no longer stored in <RG-PathPrefix>/SUNW.nfs/v4_state directory.
New state files are created in the /var/nfs/v4_state directory.

This could lead to NFS clients losing their locks after a NFS Resource Group switch over as the state files are not stored anymore in the failover <RG-PathPrefix>/SUNW.nfs/v4_state directory.
