Upgrade Error "Cannot update. Not enough disk space. Please contact Support" When Upgrading Palladion / Oracle Communications Session Monitor (Doc ID 1937398.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Session Monitor - Version 5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There are two use cases for this article:

1. In the beginning of the upgrade the error "Cannot update. Not enough disk space. Please contact Support" is shown and upgrade is stopped for Palladion / Oracle Communications Session Monitor.

NOTE: For versions 3.3.x this error is shown in the GUI directly (in the log available there) however for the versions 3.4.x/4.x the error is not directly shown in the GUI. The error in GUI prints "Update failed, please view the log for more details." and the log that is available in GUI to check for the details of the failure would contain:

In order to confirm the failure is indeed with the disk space check, access the system's shell and check the /var/log/ocsm/ocsm_preinstall_YYYY-MM-DDTHH.MM.SS_TZ.log (the name will be with actual date/time stamp), it should have a line with "Cannot update. Not enough disk space. Please contact Support"

2. The pre-check of the Upgrade article (Doc ID 1992686.1) showed there would be above error thrown during an upgrade attempt.
