VMCLIENT - Mount Delay For VTV Scratch Volumes When Using IBM VM TapeManager (Doc ID 1940602.1)

This is relevant only to z/VM systems with IBM VM TapeManager.

Symptoms

VTV scratch mounts are delayed on the VM Client.

Problem scenario:

TMTMM    LABM1   : WRKWRK05 000951 TAPEMNT SCR WRKBKUP STK3490 EXPDAYS 60 VDEV 0181 (    <<<------  this requests SCR on device 0181
TMTMM    LABM1   : EUMTAP0010I TAPEMNT message 000951 received from WRKWRK05.
TMTMM    LABM1   : EUMTAP0072I Mount request 000951 received from WRKWRK05@xxxx.
TMTMM    LABM1   : EUMTAP0079I Mount request 000951 pending.
TMTMM    LABM1   : SMSG TMLM1 000981 MOUNT 000951 A12345 ABCPLEX   <<-------- this is listing the volume to be used for the scratch mount
TMTMM    LABM1   : EUMTAP0128I TAPEMNT request 000951 processed - RC 0.

The following messages are issued every 10 seconds until the scratch mount is complete:

WRKWRK05: *** Waiting for device; attempt 8 of 600 at 11:38:46 10/06/14
WRKWRK05: HCPQVD040E Device 0181 does not exist
