ACSLS - After upgrading ACSLS and the OS, the HBA is no longer a qlt target device (Doc ID 1944730.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2022

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek Auto Cartridge Sys Lib SW (ACSLS) - Version 8.0 to 8.3 [Release 8.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading the OS from Solaris 10U9 to Solaris 10U11 and also after upgrading ACSLS 8.0.2 to ACSLS 8.3,
the Oracle Qlogic HBA, which was previously configured as a "qlt" target device associated with the ACSLS logical library,
no longer presents itself to the OS.

It had to be manually recovered by changing the qlc configuration in
/etc/driver_aliases, /etc/driver_classes, /etc/minor_perm, and /etc/name_to_major as well as update the kernel patch 150400-17 required for qlc patch 149175-06.

However, the ACSLS getHba.sh script is not able to convert the HBA to be a SCSI target device using the "qlt" driver.
This is the error message when getHBA.sh invokes the add_drv command:

/kernel/drv has a qlt.conf file.

Changes

Upgraded both OS and ACSLS
