SuperCluster: Creating Additional Databases That Leverage Exadata Acceleration (Doc ID 1948724.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 Hardware
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Purpose

This document provides recommendations to successfully install on SuperCluster an additional standalone database that uses the storage cells and leverages Exadata acceleration. A standalone database is a single instance database (as opposed to RAC) with its own Oracle home. Instructions are also provided to  register such a database with a pre-existing Oracle Cluster Registry. The installation of the additional standalone database is performed using Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) after an initial RAC Database has been installed with Java One Command (JOC).

Scope

The information in this document applies to any additional standalone database installed in SuperCluster Database Domains or Database Zones where RAC is already running.
Not following the instructions bellow may yield unexpected shutdowns on RAC nodes.
