Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.63 to 5.5 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

This document is maintained as a dynamic addendum to the published release notes for Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) and is intended to provide additional information regarding the test and support status of 3rd party client browsers that are made available after revisions of the SGD product have been formally certified, and released.

Note: The updates outlined in this document are specific to client browser support, there are no statements made or implied regarding test or support of additional client platforms, or Java Plug-ins.

As always, Oracle's Desktop Virtualization team strongly recommends that SGD Administrators maintain existing production deployments on the latest maintenance platforms to ensure access to the latest security and stability patches as outlined within the Secure Global Desktop Release Announcement Reference, (Doc ID 2093579.2).

While many browsers will work with Oracle's SGD product, customers are responsible for testing browser platforms that are not formally certified as supported to ensure expected operation.  Formally supported client browsers are defined within the Release Notes for each respective release. With this document, Oracle will agree to best effort in investigating any customer-reported issues with successfully tested browser combinations defined below, so long as those issues are reproduced on the latest comprehensive patch level of Long Term Support (LTS) maintenance platforms.

Secure Global Desktop, version 5.5

As documented at the footer of this section, the latest versions of all browsers that have been listed in Table 2.1 are formally supported.
Browsers not shown in the table may be supported at a later stage.

Secure Global Desktop, version 5.4

Secure Global Desktop 5.4 was published in April 2018.  The Release Notes published with this release include a formal list of client platforms and browsers that were tested at the time of release of this product.  Additional details regarding Browser Requirements may be found in Section 2.2.1.5.

Browsers not shown in the table may be supported at a later stage.

Service note: We can not guarantee the behavior and performance of any client platform not formally listed but we will accept a service request being opened for Oracle Support and Engineering to investigate if a formal fix can be delivered. The manner in which Oracle would release any potential fix can vary from a future maintenance release or a Patch Set Update. Oracle can not guarantee an immediate hotfix for any issue found on a platform not formally listed.

Secure Global Desktop 5.3 was published in February 2017.  The release notes outline the list of formally supported client platforms and browsers that were tested at the time of release of SGD 5.3.

Please use the list of formally supported clients platforms and browsers as the basis for your deployment.  This is the list of formally tested client platforms and are fully guarantee to work with SGD 5.3.  If you need to use a newer version of Java, browser or different OS than is listed, we recommend further testing before deploying in a production environment.
