Guest domains cannot access primary-domain or another guest domain due to CksumErrs , if LSO is enabled in guest domain. (Doc ID 1952339.1)

Last updated on MARCH 31, 2021

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 11.1 to 11.1 [Release 11.0]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)

Symptoms

Guest domains are not able to communicate via ssh or telnet with Primary/Another guest/IO domains if LSO is enabled .
Ping between Guest /Primary/IO domains are successful.

The problem occurs if all three conditions are met:

               a) Primary/IO domain  runs Solaris 11.1.9 or later till Solaris 11.1(SRU 21.4)
               b) Guest domain runs (Solaris10 + 150031-02 or later)  or (Solaris 11.1.9 till Solaris 11.1.21)
               c) Vsw is configured as :
i)If you have vsw and no net-dev used ,you are impacted by this bug.
ii) If you have vsw with net-dev and  net-dev is plumbed  you are *not* impacted , This is a recommended setup.
iii) If you have vsw with net-dev and the vsw is  plumbed, you are impacted .This is not a recommended setup and  documented not to do this on Solaris 11.

Example:

Primary domain:
********************

Primary domain is on Sol11.1SRU21.4 also extended-mapin-space are enabled on both primary and guest domains .
