HSM (SAM-QFS): How To Downgrade SAM-QFS Using IPS Commands (Doc ID 1952402.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Hierarchical Storage Manager (HSM) and StorageTek QFS Software - Version 5.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When the SAM-QFS packages were initially installed using the new IPS packaging system (pkg install) and one needs to downgrade to a lower 5.4 version of SAM-QFS, one needs to use the pkg update command and specify a lower revision of the packages. The full FMRI of each package can be displayed using the pkg list command. This FMRI can then be used in combination with the pkg update command to actually downgrade the packages.

When upgrading to a higher version of SAM-QFS using the IPS packaging system, consult the knowledge document 1951924.1

When a fresh (re)installation of SAM-QFS is needed instead, consult knowledge document 1952342.1
