Mac OS User Input Source Language Setting Does Not Inherit Correctly to Windows Application Provisioned by Secure Global Desktop

(Doc ID 1964777.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.7 to 5.1 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Mac OS X users accessing remote Windows applications via Secure Global Desktop (SGD) may report strange Windows Application Server Input Language settings:

MAC Client          Windows Application Server
Input Source        Input Language
----------------    ----------------------
Austrian         -> ??  Unknown Language
German           -> GS  Alsatian (France)
Swiss French     -> EN  English (Canada)
Swiss German     -> ??  Unknown Language

Changes

Keyboard management changed substantially with the migration to XKB with SGD 4.7.

Subsequent releases of SGD do not perform explicit keyboard mapping, but work to ensure that the input language are correctly matched between the client, and remote application server.
