Symptoms
Customer began seeing problems with STATUS_IPC_FAILURE error just after applying Windows security updates on Windows box running Libattach 1.4.2
LibAttach gets the STATUS_IPC_FAILURE error during the Configurator test.
Customer then attempted to install latest version of libattach (1.4.3). This gets an error claiming permissions attempting to run the SunRPC portmapper process which is required for communicating with the ACSLS server.
Changes
Customer installed a number of Windows security updates just prior to seeing the problem
