ACSLS 8.x: What /etc/hosts.allow Entries Are Needed For ACSLS? (Doc ID 1985973.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 20, 2016

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek Auto Cartridge Sys Lib SW (ACSLS) - Version 7.0 to 8.4 [Release 7.0 to 8.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We have ACSLS 8.3.0.2 running on a T5-2 with Solaris 11.2. We're using /etc/hosts.allow for various services with an /etc/hosts.deny that is ALL: ALL. With this setup, ACSLS will not talk to any remote servers for commands (SAM-QFS for example). The remote SAM server is on 10.140.xx.xx. if I add the following to /etc/hosts.allow:

ALL: 10.140.xx.xx

Then it works.

With above entry:

~# rpcinfo -t acsls 300031 1
program 300031 version 1 ready and waiting

Without above entry:

# rpcinfo -t acsls 300031 1
rpcinfo: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Authentication error
program 300031 version 1 is not available

I need to know what "names" ACSLS uses for hosts.allow. I cannot find anything in the ACSLS manual or knowledge base.
