Oracle Exalytics: ILOM Remote Console Fails to Start or Starts and Reports Error: "No Appropriate Protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites is inappropriate)"

Symptoms
Exalytics ILOM remote console fails to launch web application.
If root user logs in to ILOM web interface and selects -> Host -> Remote Control -> Redirection -> Launch Remote Console.
User is prompted with a dialog box that shows:
"Opening jnlp-generator16"
If browse -> select Firefox web browser is selected, FF does not open the file and prompts again.
The browser will keep looping and fails to open the web application.
If Internet Explorer (IE) browser is used, the console starts to load but then gives an error:
No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate)
This was working previously and seems to have stopped working after recent java updates were installed.
