Purpose

 

The goal of this document is to present the best practices for the deployment of Databases on Oracle SuperCluster. These practices should be applied to Exadata-based databases (that is, those deployed in a SuperCluster database domain, rather than a SuperCluster application domain).

 Database should run with the critical threads optimization
 Dynamic Intimate Shared Memory (DISM) is not supported
 Avoid Running Unnecessary Scripts and Applications in Database Domains
 Verify that all running instances are registered in /var/opt/oracle/oratab
 Do not modify USE_LARGE_PAGES database initialization parameter
 Set the PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU database initialization parameter to 2
