Symptoms
Samba Server joined a Windows Domain named Domain1
In the Windows Domain environment a External Two Way Domain Trust between Domain1 and Domain2
Windows Domain users that were members of Domain1 could authenticate and map shares successfully
Windows Domain users that were members of a Domain2 could not authenticate and map shares successfully
Domain2 users would receive LOGON_FAILURE messages
wbinfo -u command did not lists Domain2 users, only Domain1 users were listed
getent passwd did not list Domain2 users, only Domain users were listed
Samba log file log.winbindd recorded Did not find domain [DOMAIN2]
Changes
Windows Domain Controllers were upgraded from Windows Server 2003 to Window Server 2008 R2
Installed Patch 119757-34 to update Solaris Samba from version 3.0.37 to 3.6.25
