Gnome Applications Hosted on Oracle Linux 7 Application Servers Fail to Launch when Provisioned by Secure Global Desktop
Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.63 to 5.2 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrators may receive reports that individual applications and/or full Gnome 3 desktop sessions hosted on Oracle Linux 7 (or functionally equivalent Red Hat) Application Servers fail to launch as expected when provisioned by SGD.
The behavior of these reports may differ based upon the type of application presentation:
- Stand-Alone applications may be seen to draw briefly, and then disappear. In this scenario, the SGD server may continue to show the application as running.
- Gnome 3 desktop session launches may fail with an error message that shows a sad computer, and text that says "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occurred and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again."
