Symptoms

Solaris release 11.2 includes a new utility called fwupdate with an option to collect the firmware levels of all configured Oracle devices (fwupdate list all). This utility calls a tool called qaucli (supplied by Qlogic), which causes the ASIC on the Qlogic HBA to reset and trigger the OFFLINE/ONLINE condition on the Fibre Channel link.  This issue has been documented in bug 20980370. The fwupdate manpage provides additional details on this utility.
