X Application Sessions Fail to Resume in Secure Global Desktop 5.1 (Doc ID 2032466.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.1 to 5.1 [Release 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

By default, Secure Global Desktop (SGD) version 5.1 is configured to allow users to resume their previously launched X applications.

Additional information on Application Resumability may be found in the Administration Guide, here:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E41492_01/E41495/html/attributes-reference.html#attr-application-resumability

In some scenarios, however, SGD users may report that attempts to resume a previously launched session may fail.

Ex.

In this scenario, the X applications provisioned to the user are configured to use the "Client Window Management" Window Type.

Meanwhile, the SGD Administrator may find that the application session the user is attempting to resume is not listed when reviewing the corresponding emulatorsessions at the command line:

# /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella emulatorsession list
