Solaris Format Command Present Special Disk Names First , Instead of Standard Disk Name cXtXdX (Doc ID 2051584.1)

Symptoms

This Solaris 10 server has four Oracle FC HBAs , connected to the SAN to access SAN disks storage arrays.

All SAN LUNs mapped are under Symantec - Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) control.

 

Notice that format presents first some LUNs with non standard names (Disk_0s0, EMC269, etc.)
