Solaris Cluster 4.2 Deleting Resource of SUNW.Proxy_SMF_failover Type May Not Update SMF delegated restarter (Doc ID 2057377.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 07, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 4.2 to 4.3 [Release 4.2 to 4.3]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

When one creates SUNW.Proxy_SMF_failover resource on a Solaris  11,  Solaris Cluster 4.x server it will bring the Solaris SMF service under cluster control. The cluster service will act as a proxy to run this SMF service under cluster control. This helps integrating an SMF service into the overall cluster hierarchy so it can be started or stopped from the cluster framework and made highly available.

When  SUNW.Proxy_SMF_failover resource is created the SMF restarter will be changed to
svc:/system/cluster/sc_restarter:default

However when the resources is deleted the restarter will not be changed back to the original Solaris restarter.
