Oracle HSM - How To Clear The "C" (Cleaning) Flag On A Tape Drive? (Doc ID 2059414.1)

Goal

Sometimes the "C" (cleaning) flag will get set on a tape drive, for example:

root@tape-x4200d / # samcmd s

Device status samcmd      5.3.9 13:07:59 Sep 23 2015
samcmd on tape-x4200d

ty     eq state   device_name                        fs status
h4    900 on      /dev/samst/c2t500110A0008BBBCAu1   900  m--------r
        move complete
li    911 on      /dev/rmt/1cbn                      900  ----C----p                     
        empty
li    912 on      /dev/rmt/0cbn                      900  ---------p
        empty
hy    913 on      historian                          913  ----------

 

In the above example the /dev/rmt/1cbn or eq 911 has the "C" (cleaning) flag set.
