When attempting to label a disk using format(1m) the following message may appear:
The disk is currently or previously in use by a software application using SCSI reservations. This may include various cluster system software, e.g. Sun Cluster, or other similar products.
SCSI 3 Persistent Group Reservations remain even after device reset, power cycle etc;. they must be explicitly removed if the storage logical unit is to be used by another host/HBA. Failure to remove these reservations may cause this symptom.
