(Doc ID 2078676.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 17, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.1 to 5.2 [Release 5.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Secure Global Desktop (SGD) users may find that the Shift key may not behave as expected when used with the CAPSLOCK functionality in applications provisioned to Windows clients.
This behavior can be reproduced using the following steps:
1. Launch an xterm application provisioned locally from a Secure Global Desktop server.
2. Enable CAPSLOCK, by pressing the "Capitals Lock" key. (LED illuminated on the keyboard).
> Confirm that uppercase characters were input under Windows and in the SGD sessions, as expected.
3. Disable CAPSLOCK, by pressing the "Capitals Lock" key (LED not illuminated on the keyboard).
> Confirm that lowercase characters were input under Windows and in the SGD sessions, as expected.
4. Re-Enable CAPSLOCK, by pressing the "Capitals Lock" key (LED illuminated on the keyboard).
> Confirm that uppercase characters were input under Windows and in the SGD sessions, as expected.
5. With CAPSLOCK still enabled, (LED illuminated on the keyboard), hold the SHIFT key.
> Confirm that uppercase characters were input under Windows and lowercase characters were shown in the SGD session.
Some customers may prefer Level5 behavior, which would result in the SHIFT key always resulting in Capitalized characters, independent of CAPSLOCK state.
