Goal

How to reduce the verbosity of counters daemon. This article is applicable to version 2 only.

Sample customer issue that may be addressed with this:

Our Palladion ME is constantly filling up it's disk space due to constant INFO messages in /var/log/syslog. The messages all read:

To explain:

Depending on the number of counters (and platform devices/realms - all adding up to the number of counters) the counters daemon that is responsible for the KPI/metrics can log above messages if all/some of the second values are not processed fast enough. This being a second loop and considering the number of KPIs, the number of messages can be very large thus filling the disk in fast manner (several gigabytes in few hours).
