"fcinfo hba-port" shows "No Adapters Found" for Non Oracle HBAs, After Upgrading to S10 u13 from CD-ROM (Doc ID 2125311.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2022

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Solaris 10 Systems equipped with non-Oracle Fibre Channel HBAs, such as Qlogic or Emulex that bind to non Oracle drivers, such as qla and lpfc, may get the following condition when running "fcinfo hba-port" command:

ROOT# fcinfo hba-port
No Adapters Found.

It is possible that such condition may occur for different revisions of the OS upgrade. The key to this issue seems to be related to upgrades from CD-ROM instead of live upgrades.

The following /etc/hba.conf shows the default entries after the installation of the OS, which shows that it does not include entries specific to non-Oracle branded HBAs
