Processes can hang behind threads waiting in as_rangelock()

(Doc ID 2143249.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2018

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 to 11.3 [Release 10.0 to 11.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Should the issue happen, threads can indefinitely wait in as_rangelock() although there is no candidate thread to wake them up.

As a result, hung processes cannot be killed even with SIGKILL.
