On certain Solaris 10 and Solaris 11.1 systems, arc_reclaim_thread() can run indefinitely on a cpu and exhaust the cpu resource when the system's free memory is low. If the system has only one CPU, the system can get hang up.
In the following case, arc_reclaim_thread() has been on CPU0 for more than 8 hours 52 minutes blocking other runnable threads.
This issue happens with the following releases:
- Solaris 10 with patch 150400-21 and without 150400-27
- Solaris 11.1 with SRU 14.5.0
