how to configure sshd to log client ip address (Doc ID 2153971.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 23, 2019

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 1/13 U11 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The default setup of the sshd does not log the ip address of the client and sometimes we need to isolate these clients address or addresses to make correlations in the logs.

eg. sshd[13802]: [ID 800047 auth.crit] monitor fatal: protocol error during kex, no DH_GEX_REQUEST: 254

which is not helpful without the src ip address of the client.

To be able to setup sshd to log the src ip address of the clients.
