Purpose

This document provides time sensitive information on Exalytics software updates that may be required due to continuation of Daylight Savings Time (DST) in Turkey on October 30, 2016. The Turkish Council of Ministers recently voted to end DST in Turkey.  Clocks were not turned back 1 hour, but remained on the same time, UTC+3.  By not setting their clocks back, Turkey has permanently abandoned the practice of adjusting the local time to and from DST. Before this change, DST (i.e. Summertime) would have ended on October 30, 2016.  This document describes software updates that may be required on Exalytics servers due to this change.

Scope

This  document describes updates that may be required on Exalytics "X" series servers (X2-4, X3-4, X4-4, X5-6 and X6-6) and T5-8 servers being used in Turkey, or in a Turkish language environment. The changes may be required for bare metal and OVM servers using Linux 5/6 or Solaris 11.
