We are pleased to announce the 5.4.5 maintenance release of Sun Ray Software (SRS). This maintenance update is now available to contracted customers within the My Oracle Support portal, and includes the changes described below.

Sun Ray Software

Sun Ray Software is a secure and cost-effective solution that delivers a rich virtual desktop experience for Sun Ray Clients, PCs, and laptops. It provides access to virtual desktop environments from nearly any location and dramatically reduces the complexity and operational costs incurred by traditional PC deployments.

New Features

The following are the new features in this release.

  • Support for the new Sun Ray Operating Software  (SROS) 11.1.7 (firmware)

Bug Fixes

This is a maintenance update, and includes several significant bug fixes that have been identified.  The following solutions have been included in the Sun Ray Software 5.4.5 release update.

Actions

Download the Sun Ray Software Release Update

Note: This maintenance update is available only to customers with valid support contracts who have registered with the My Oracle Support (MOS) service portal.

There are two ways to download this maintenance update:

Using an Update ID

  1. From a web browser, go to the My Oracle Support site, https://support.oracle.com, and login. 
  2. Click the Patches and Updates tab.
  3. In the Patch Name or Number field, enter the appropriate Update ID for the maintenance update to download, Patch# 25028977.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Click the appropriate Sun Ray Software maintenance update in the search results to download.

Using Advanced Search

  1. From a web browser, go to the My Oracle Support site, http://support.oracle.com, and log in. 
  2. Click the Patches and Updates tab.
  3. In the Patch Search section, click Product or Family (Advanced Search).
  4. In the Product is field, enter 'Sun Ray Software' and choose the matching name in the drop down menu.
  5. In the Release is field, choose the appropriate release for the maintenance update to download.
  6. Click Search.
  7. Click the appropriate Sun Ray Software update in the search results to download.

Additional Note:  Upgrades from Sun Ray Software 5.2 or later are supported with Sun Ray Software 5.4.5. You can upgrade directly to 5.4.5 which means you do not have to upgrade to Sun Ray Software 5.4 first before upgrading to Sun Ray Software 5.4.5.

We recommend that you first install the new Sun Ray Operating Software (SROS) 11.1.7 (Document 2199209.1) prior to installing this new software.
