Restarting smtp:sendmail service reverts back DS entry to older one in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file . (Doc ID 2202062.1)

Symptoms


To change mail server from mail1 to mail2, user changes line entry DSmail1 to DSmail2 in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file to reflect new mail server.

But what happens is after restarting smtp:sendmail service,  sendmail.cf file reverts back to original file meaning DSmail1 line changes back to  DSmail2.
