Last updated on JULY 07, 2023

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 8/11 U10 to 10 1/13 U11 [Release 10.0]

Symptoms

Should the issue described in this document occur, the time needed for the system to boot could be several minutes or hours with no output seen on the console.  The time taken for the system to boot will depend on the size of the primary swap device, usually rpool/swap.  Generating a system crash dump is often the best option to understand boot hangs.

Changes

Applying Kernel Patch 147440-19 (SPARC)/147441-19 (x86/x64) or newer.
