How to Recover from Boot Panic during Kernel Module Loading (Doc ID 2241250.1)

Symptoms

A server panics when going from milestone=none to single-user:default. A system dump will not be created because the panic happens before the dump device is configured.

Changes

 A new software component which contains a loadable kernel module may have been installed on the server.
