rpcinfo -p gives error: rpcinfo: hostname1: N2a: Hostname Not Found (Doc ID 2265401.1)

Symptoms

rpcinfo -p command ran as below gives error:

host1# rpcinfo -p
rpcinfo:host1: n2a: hostname not found
 
host1#rpcinfo -p host1
rpcinfo:host1: n2a: hostname not found

 

If same command is run with hostname host1's ip address, it works fine:


host1#rpcinfo -p <ip address of host1>
shows the right output.

rpcinfo -s or rpcinfo -s <hostname> or rpcinfo -s <host ip > works fine.
