Symptoms

After the successful upgrade of an existing SGD deployment from 5.1 to 5.3, a long-time end user reported to the SGD Administrator that they were unable to successfully connect from their Windows desktop.  New users were not impacted.

In this scenario, the user saw the following record within the Java console when connecting via IE or Firefox:
