 As of August 2017 the StorageTek SL4000 Modular Library System is now available.

Oracle's StorageTek SL4000 modular library system is an enterprise tape storage solution that offers flexibility, scalability, and high availability. The SL4000 is modular to meet the demands of rapidly growing and constantly changing environments.

The StorageTek SL4000 scales up to 120 tape drives and from 300 to 9000 cartridge slots. The base library supports up to 339 slots and up to 24 tape drives, supporting up to 2.8 PB in a single frame. Scale up to 76 PB within a single library by adding additional cartridge expansion modules, or increase throughput up to 148 TB/hour by adding up to three drive expansion modules. By leveraging the system's RealTime Growth capability with capacity-on-demand technology, you can non-disruptively scale by preinstalling physical capacity to secure floor space and then activate that capacity only when it is needed, by using hardware activation files.   These features make it a highly-available, scalable, midrange tape storage solution.
