Symptoms
Oracle HSM fails to mount tapes and ACSLS shows Library Error, LSM failure.
Errors seen in the the acsls event log:
This error repeats for many different tapes in the acsls event log.
On O-HSM, running samu>s customer sees the tapes try to mount over and over with a " mount of <tape> failed" message.
Changes
Upgraded their SL8500 tape firmware to FRS_8.51.
There is a known problem with this firmware upgrade and there are a few Tape Hardware documents written for this known issue.
