Goal
HPE LTO-5 and LTO-6 library tape drives support drive diagnostics via the Ethernet interface using the Internet Diagnostics Tool Interface (iDTI) protocol.
L&TT 4.14 and newer releases support this feature with the Ethernet mode.
With Ethernet mode,most diagnostics can be performed from a laptop (with L&TT installed) that is connected to the drive or library with an Ethernet cable.
This saves installing L&TT on a specific server and connecting to the drive or library with SCSI cables.
