Goal
BEFORE CONTINUING with the order for a replacement of a 8TB HDD, please ENSURE you have READ and UNDERSTAND the information contained in this document.
Failure to ADHERE to this document WILL result in delays to Customer problem resolution.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Older model 8TB HDDs are NO LONGER AVAILABLE, a replacement drive with the same Capacity (8TB) will be provided.
However, the replacement drive requires a minimum AK Firmware version of OS 8.7.0 for the ZFS Storage Appliance.
Updating your software to the recommended version code will help to expedite part replacements.
Please see MOS Document ID 2021771.1 for the latest ZFS Storage Appliance Software Requirements and update process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are unable to upgrade the AK Firmware version to support the newer 8TB drive, the replacement parts request for the older 8TB disk may be delayed.
By upgrading to AK Firmware version OS 8.7.0 (or later), the ZFS Storage Appliance is able to use the functionality of the 'newer' 8TB replacement drives.
