IODCTQ Service Is Disabled Automatically After Each Reboot (Doc ID 2316314.1)

Last updated on JUNE 11, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle SuperCluster M7 Hardware - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After every reboot, the iodctq service shows as disabled.

Enabling the iodctq service manually (svcadm enable -s iodctq) succeeds.  Then running the script /lib/svc/method/iodct-upgrade.sh will disable it again.

Adding a check to the iodct-upgrade.sh script to check the status of iodctq when executing /lib/svc/method/iodct-upgrade.sh will show status of iodctq was not online when the script is run.  So this script will not try to start iodctq after disabling it.

     a.  Locate these lines in the script /lib/svc/method/iodct-upgrade.sh

               QUEUE_STATE=$(${SVCS} -Ho state iodctq)
               OVMQ_STATE=$(${SVCS} -Ho state iodctq-ovmt)

     b.  Add the following two lines after above two lines:

               echo "Before upgrade, iodctq is $QUEUE_STATE"
               echo "Before upgrade iodctq-ovmt is $OVMQ_STATE"
