STA - "Users View" Displays Duplicated Users Records

Symptoms
Every user record created is displayed twice on the STA GUI Users view
(STA GUI >> Setup & Administration >> Configuration >> Users).
For example:
Likewise, every user record deleted, erases the double entries in the view.
The user can log into the GUI with the usernames he created even when they are duplicated.
The Weblogic admin console shows on the Users and Groups page, two sets of records:
one created by DefaultAuthenticator, and the other created by the external LDAP service.
