Purpose
The 5.4 release of Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) has introduced several significant changes with how users may connect to the product.
This release introduces new functionality that allows the for automatic start of a pre-installed SGD Client without using Java software. This new modality is described in the product documentation as the "installed" client mode, but is commonly referred to as the "Java-less" client type.
This document is intended to provide an overview of this exciting new functionality.
