Symptoms
ORA-01503 and ORA-15260: permission denied on ASM disk group when creating an Exadata Snapshot on Database on X3-2 or later Exadata Machines.
ASM does not recognize new OS users as members unless they are added to the usergroup for that Diskgroup. If an attempt is made to add new OS users as members when doing an Exadata Snapshot then ORA-01503 and ORA-15260 message is seen in the alert log files and the Snapshot attempt fails.
