SDP2 - How to Configure NTP on a SDP2 Server (Doc ID 2418306.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021

Applies to:

StorageTek Service Delivery Platform (SDP2) - Version 2.3.1 to 2.5.0 [Release 2.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

This document shows how to configure NTP for an SDP2 server running Oracle Linux 6.

Oracle Linux 7 uses chronyd instead of ntpd - do not use OL7 NTP config instructions on OL6!

Note: This is OS level functionality, not an SDP2 specific configuration, and is thus not dependent on the version of SDP2 being run. NTP isn't even required by SDP2, but it's the safest way to guarantee that the date/time on the server will be correct - and having the correct date / time IS required for SDP2 to function.
