Oracle HSM: Staging Fails For Files With Archive Copies On Multiple Volumes (Using Volume Overflow)
(Doc ID 2432544.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 21, 2019
Applies to:Oracle Hierarchical Storage Manager (HSM) and StorageTek QFS Software - Version 6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Customer found that large files (>6TB) where volume overflow was required to archive them (ovflmin set in /etc/opt/SUNWsamfs/archiver.cmd), cannot be staged anymore once they have been released.
The failing stage request will yield damaged copies in the end.
The first tape is always read without any problems. The issue occurs when trying to read from the next tape (where the next section is located).
