Addendum: Identifying and Installing Recommended RSA Authentication Agent Software for Integration with Secure Global Desktop 5.4 (Doc ID 2442788.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

RSA's SecurID Authentication Agent software has been removed from the standard installation packaging of the 5.4 release of Secure Global Desktop.  SGD Administrators that wish to perform SecurID authentication within their SGD Deployment using the legacy SecurID Login Authority will need to manually download and install the RSA Authentication Agent software on each SGD node.

Details regarding this important change can be found within Section 1.2.11 of the Changes section of the SGD 5.4 Release notes.

This KM Article is intended to assist the SGD Administrator in identifying and configuring the correct RSA Agent software in a fashion equivalent to earlier releases of the product.

Scope

This reference material is intended for SGD Administrators who have installed or upgraded a SGD deployment to version 5.4, and would like to use the product's legacy SecurID Login Authority to authenticate connecting users.

Support Statement: The procedure described within this document outlines recommended steps to download and install 3rd party software from RSA; as such, this document must assume that the customer has previously established a valid relationship with that organization directly,  with rights and permission to access the client software.   Further, successful integration of these two products requires that the customer's RSA Authentication Manager Server is installed and operational within the target environment.

Oracle's Desktop Virtualization team cannot assist with access to that 3rd party resource, nor with the install and configuration of SecurID Authentication Server software directly.
