NFSv4 Mirror Mounts Unmounting After Too Short An Idle Period (Doc ID 2445924.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

NFSv4 mirror mounts are similar to standard automounts, in that the filesystems shared further "down" in the NFSv4 pseudo filesystem tree are automatically mounted when accessed.

See:  How Mirror Mounts Work for more details on NFSv4 mirror mount.

Application problems - delays - have resulted from applications accessing an NFSv4 mirror mount, then, after a brief (might be only a few seconds) idle time, having to wait while the mirror mount is re-mounted.
