Solaris Cluster 4.x Newly created HA Oracle Database with ASM failed to stay up. Alert log reports ORA-00204: error in reading (block 1, # blocks 1) of control file (Doc ID 2446191.1)

Symptoms

After creating new cluster resource for Oracle Database (HA) using ASM disk groups and after starting the resource group, the database started but after few moments it failed with following message in Alert log:

Errors in file /u01/....../prod_ora_xxx.trc:
ORA-15025: could not open disk "/dev/did/rdsk/dxsx"
ORA-27041: unable to open file
SVR4 Error: 13: Permission denied
